Mass at Regis Jesuit

Mass at Regis Jesuit

As a Catholic school, the celebration of our core Sacrament—the Eucharist—is a critical component in the faith formation of all members of our school community. Therefore, we offer Masses regularly at the school throughout the school year.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to offering this pinnacle of our faith as frequently as we can.

  • All-School Masses

The school community comes together six times a year for all-school Masses, including the Mass of the Holy Spirit—an annual tradition at Jesuit institutions around the world—as well as for a prayer service during Holy Week.
  • Class Masses

Students also attend divisional and class Masses several times each semester.
  • Mass on Retreat

The Eucharist is also celebrated in the context of each of the class-level retreats.
  • Daily Mass

All members of the community are welcome to attend a lunchtime Mass offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (with the exception of First Fridays - see below) in the St. John Francis Regis Chapel in the boys building and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Blessed Rupert Mayer Chapel in the girls building.
  • First Friday Mass

A dedication to the Sacred Heart, students, parents, guardians, employees, alumni and friends of Regis Jesuit are invited to join us for a monthly Mass at 7:30 am on the first Friday of the month during the school year in the Blessed Rupert Mayer Chapel. First Friday in November is offered as a special Remembrance Mass for those who have gone before us in faith. More information on the First Friday liturgies and Remembrance Mass is below.
Now in its 25th year, the tradition of First Friday Mass as a dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus continues at Regis Jesuit.

First Friday Mass

All parents, guardians, students, alums, faculty, staff and friends of Regis Jesuit are invited to join us at 7:30 am in the Blessed Rupert Mayer Chapel in the Girls Division on the first Friday of most months during the school year. We offer you a joyous celebration of the Eucharist, with inspirational music provided by the wonderful First Friday Choir.

The 2024-25 school year marks 25 years since the tradition of First Friday Masses began at Regis Jesuit. We will celebrate this milestone at the October Mass.

We invite all to join us for this special Jesuit devotion to the Sacred Heart.

    • In the visitor parking in front of the Science & Innovation Center
Access the chapel by entering the east doors of the Girls Division building nearest to the primary parking lot. This is the only open door to allow access to the building. The other doors are locked and not staffed at this time of day.

  • Bad Weather Contingency Plan

    • If the school is closed due to weather conditions on a First Friday morning, then MASS IS ALSO CANCELLED.
    • If school is on a one-hour late start on a First Friday morning, MASS STILL WILL BE CELEBRATED AT 7:30 AM.
Afterward, fellowship with light refreshments takes place in the cafeteria extension near the chapel. It’s a wonderful way to start your month and end your week.

Remembrance Mass

In our Masses and prayers throughout November, the community of Regis Jesuit High School honors the legacy and cherishes the memory of our loved ones who have passed away.

We will hold this liturgy during the 2024-25 school year on:

RESCHEDULED DATE - Due to anticipated adverse weather conditions
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2024 |
7:30 AM
BLESSED RUPERT MAYER CHAPEL - GIRLS DIVISION

This year's Remembrance Mass will be held in person as well as livestreamed.

At this Mass, we will pray for those members of our community who passed away in the past year (October 1, 2023-September 30, 2024) in a celebration of the Eucharist. Afterward, there will be a reception for attendees in the cafeteria extension near the chapel.
During November, the Church invites us to recall in a special way those who have gone before us.
