We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
After a long day of playing futball, baseball, volleyball, basketball, and jump-roping with elementary schoolers, we walked with a Holy Week procession through the town. We were handed purple candles when we joined the procession and the band was crazy fire (fuego for those uninitiated). The procession stretched on for quite some time and we dipped out right by the retreat center, leaving the glowing Jesus statue behind. After all that commotion we tucked right into bed for an early night's sleep, despite the fact that the band was playing throughout the town late into the night.
Good morning, Buenos Dias! Today, we woke up bright and early as Ethan and Ward (Edwardo) so graciously prepared breakfast and freshly squeezed pineapple juice for us. We took the bus out of Andahuaylas to the school CEBE San Antonio. After a quick tour of the grounds we broke out the tables and started the arts and crafts: coloring, papier mache, and sports. We also were privileged enough to be sat down and shown a dance by students at the school which we were quickly asked to be a part of. We ate lunch and took a grueling hike where Ira explained the hit manga series One Piece (again). At the top, we took pics on giant hands and split into groups for our second school visit. We had a lot of fun playing frisbee, American football, baseball, and giving piggyback rides. Finally, after a crazy bus ride home, we raided the local markets, accumulating an alarming quantity of junk food. And here we are, you're all caught up now.
