We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
SETTLING INTO THE VOLCANO'S EMBRACE: A WEEK OF ADVENTURE STARTS
Cesar Chabarria-Garza'25
There’s a certain magic to arriving in a new place—especially one where nature’s raw beauty surrounds you at every turn. Here, nestled in the shadow of a mist-cloaked volcano, time seems to slow down, inviting you to pause, breathe, and immerse yourself in a world that feels untouched.
Another day of travel! The group started our Saturday in our plane bound to Panama City. A smooth flight that landed without trouble. The airport at Panama City is an impressive sight, with interesting architecture, and many international flights. Our group had a domestic flight to catch, and we busied ourselves trying to pass immigration, reenter security, and board our flight. The whole process was more complicated than it had to be, but we made it to our flight on time. One quick hour flight to Daivd and a two-hour bus ride later we arrived at Cerro Punta. After a lunch of rice, beans, and chicken, we learned of AMIGOS policy and got divided into two groups. One group was going to stay with host families in Cerro Punta, and the other group would drive another five minutes to stay with host families in Guadalupe. I personally, stayed with the wonderful Lady Ada and her husband Andre in Guadalupe. Enjoying a dinner of fried plantains, chicken, and rice, accompanied with a warm cup of mint tea and retreating for the night. Everyone, although safe and happy, was fatigued from the non-stop travel and promptly slept the rest of the day away, getting ready for the day of toil tomorrow.
