Immersion Experience: Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA: DAY ONE

By Ruthie Saba ‘25 and Ethan Park ‘25
Over the course of this class, we have learned about the significance of these immersion experiences and talked about ways we should approach these experiences.
We’ve arrived at Tegucigalpa. Ronia and Frank from International Samaritan greeted us at the airport. We ate at a restaurant after landing and walked around seeing the beautiful views. We drove down the road to Comayagua where we visited a beautiful Catholic Church and walked around the plaza. From there we started the journey to Tegucigalpa. Everyone fell asleep on the ride there, zonked from the travel day. Once we arrived, we settled into our rooms and gathered for dinner. We sat, ate, and then went onto end the night reflecting together. We reflected on how to act within the community and our intentions coming into this trip. The day starts early tomorrow! See you then!
