Stephen Kenney '65
Stephen Kenney '65 passed away on June 11, 2024.
"Steve attended Regis Jesuit High School. He then attended Mesa College, where he met the love of his life Maryann. After graduation, he continued his studies at CSU graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Mathematics. He worked in the oil and gas industry for several years. In 1995 he received a distinguished service award from the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Steve and Maryann honeymooned in Marble, CO. They spent much of their early time together camping, hiking, and fishing all over Colorado. Another of the happiest times of his life involved waking up to 3 inches of snow in July at Rocky Mountain National Park with Maryann, on their anniversary. They shared fifty-two years of a strong, happy marriage. Steve was a caring individual who was always there for his family and friends. He was a loving son, a supportive big brother, a devoted father, and a caring grandfather. Steve loved his family and friends through life’s joys and life’s tragedies. He struggled through many health issues yet maintained strength and dignity through it all." Click here to view the full obituary.
Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, June 21 at 10:00 am with a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists or National Jewish Hospital.
We join the prayers of the community of Regis Jesuit with yours for the repose of Stephen's soul and the consolation of his family and all those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
