Michael LaConte '65
Michael LaConte '65 passed away on June 9, 2024.
"Michael was born April 6, 1947, in Denver, Colo. Mike’s childhood started on a farm in a small Italian community in North Denver. After moving to Wheat Ridge, he graduated from Regis High School in Denver. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Colorado State University. During that time, he also served in the Army Reserve and met his wife, Pat, while stationed in Indiana. Their nearly 52-year marriage began in 1972. In his life, he had many careers, including working in college residence life, as an insurance agent with American Family and as the director of religious education at Christ the King Catholic Parish in Pueblo. Along the way, he earned a Ph.D. in school psychology and was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists. He had a long career as a school psychologist in Colorado Springs, Pueblo West and other districts across the state of Colorado. Mike was an active member in the Pueblo community, working in areas of mental health support, youth activities and the church. He was a long-time parishioner at Christ the King Parish in Pueblo and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a master’s degree from St. Thomas in theology and was a deacon in the Diocese of Pueblo. As a deacon, he served at Christ the King as well as for many years at Sacred Heart Parish in Avondale." Click here to view the full obituary.
