DECA WINS THREE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS AND QUALIFIES FOR STATE

Congratulations to the 59 members of the DECA Club who competed at the District 11 Competition on November 19 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Approximately 1000 students from nine local high schools converged to compete in 32 individual and team events such as Business Management, Finance, Hospitality, Accounting and Human Resources. The Raiders performed remarkably at the competition, earning three District Championships and 10 Top Ten finishes! Way to go, Carson Cherveny '26, Becky Gelfer '25 and Daley Harnett '25, on garnering first-place finishes in their respective events. In addition, the team qualified for the DECA State Leadership Conference in six of the 15 events in which they competed.
A huge shoutout to Vivi Devlin '25 who graciously pivoted when she was unable to compete in an event she prepared for due to a computer error. Additionally, she responded selflessly when she was willing to miss one of her events to assist a teammate in need at their event. Way to be with and for Others, Vivi!
