RJ STUDENTS DEMAND ACTION CLUB ADVOCATES FOR GUN VIOLENCE BILL ON CAPITAL HILL

Recently, students from the RJ Students Demand Action Club were hard at work advocating for gun safety in Colorado. As part of the nationwide Students Demand Action organization that advocates for ending gun violence, members of the group, led by the RJ chapter president Carter Ferris '27, testified to the Colorado House Education Committee in support of House Bill 25-1250. If passed, the law would require school districts to provide parents with information about safe gun storage. Additionally, club members testified to lawmakers at the State Capitol in support of a bill that would require a permit to purchase semiautomatic weapons. Club moderator Megan Tokaz is proud of the hard work and dedication the club members have shown this year, as they continue to learn about politics, gun laws and advocating for what they believe in.
