TWO RAIDERS NOMINATED FOR JUANITA GRAY SERVICE AWARD

Congratulations to two Raiders, Arsema Geberekidan '25 and Oheneba Osei-Fordwuo '25, who were both nominated for this year's 2025 Juanita Gray Community Service Award through the Denver Public Library. At an event honoring the nominees and announcing this year's winners, Geberekidan was recognized as one of only two youth award recipients! As part of the award, she will also receive a $1000 college scholarship. Also attending the event was RJ's Ignatian Immersion & Solidarity Outreach Coordinator, Shayla Reeder '14, who was thrilled to celebrate this wonderful distinction with the two students.
The Denver Public Library established the Juanita Gray Community Service Awards in 1988 to celebrate the contributions of men, women and youth of Black or African descent who exemplify the ideals and spirit represented by Juanita Gray's commitment to Denver’s African American community. Each year, community members are invited to nominate individuals for this prestigious award in recognition of their dedication and contributions to their community.

Way to go, Arsema and Oheneba!
