RACHEL COOPER '24 HONORED AS 2024 U.S. PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR

Congratulations to Rachel Cooper '24 who has earned the prestigious honor of being selected as one of just 161 U.S. Presidential Scholars for 2024. She was one of only two Colorado honorees to earn this distinction out of more than 5700 students who qualified for this highly selective program based on their outstanding performance on the College Board SAT or ACT exams.

Per the Department of Education press release:
“The 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Presidential Scholars represent the best of our nation’s schools and inspire hope in the bright future of this country,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. “On behalf of President Biden, I am delighted to celebrate their accomplishments, and encourage these scholars to continue to aim high, lift up others, and embrace opportunities to lead.”
 
The U.S. Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects scholars annually based on academic success, excellence in the arts and technical education, as well as a demonstrated commitment to community service and leadership. Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.
 
Rachel, along with other scholars from the Class of 2024. will be recognized for their outstanding achievement this summer with an online recognition program.
