RJ DIRECTOR OF SAFETY NAMED FINALIST IN NATIONAL SAFETY DIRECTOR AWARD

Even more notable, it was Lotito’s own team members, led by Security Specialist Frank Dunnington, who sought to nominate her for this recognition. Dunnington worked with Rick Sullivan, who served as Vice President of Operations at Regis Jesuit and implemented many of our initial safety protocols prior to his retirement in 2019, to prepare the nomination. Together they compiled and submitted a comprehensive multi-page document covering criteria from leadership and relationship building to community relations, budget management and innovative solutions implementation. 

Lotito was selected as a finalist from a pool of scores of nominees from across the county and is one of four named in Colorado, where campus safety is among the top priorities for any school. Since assuming the role as Director of Safety in 2019, she has been instrumental in building upon the foundation laid for our campus security efforts, both of the physical plant as well as partnering with IT around cybersecurity initiatives and software implementation to advance safety efforts. Lotito also played a vital role in Regis Jesuit’s navigation of the COVID pandemic. 

It is especially fitting that Lotito is being recognized for her efforts during this school year where we are honoring the Wisdom of Women and celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Girls Division. She is also a member of the founding faculty who helped shape the Girls Division.

Campus Safety magazine has been a resource since 1993 for school, university and healthcare facility protection professionals and will announce the winner of the 2024 Director of the Year award this summer during their annual conference being held in Atlanta. We are proud of Kelli Lotito’s nomination for this award and will be rooting for her this summer.
