Gary Menard, SJ
Fr. Gary Menard, SJ was named the superior of the RJHS Jesuit Community starting in the 2023-24 school year, as well as joined the staff of RJHS to teach, help with retreat and other pastoral ministries. Fr. Gary spent his Regency at Regis Jesuit in the early 1990s, teaching math and computer literacy. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees from 2007-15, where he chaired the Ignatian Identity Committee. Fr. Gary is a graduate of St. Louis University High School and joined the Jesuits in 1988. He has degrees from Saint Louis University in mathematics, computer science, Russian and psychology, a master’s in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, a Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and a master’s degree in Catholic school administration from the University of San Francisco. Fr. Gary was ordained in St. Louis in 1999 and then spent six years at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City as the pastoral director and teaching math. He came back to Denver to serve as assistant principal at Arrupe Jesuit High School from 2006-17 before moving to Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston where he was dean of academics for two years. Fr. Gary returned to Rockhurst High School in 2019 to work in faculty formation and teach math as well as to serve on their board. Starting in 2020, he also took on the roles of board member and spiritual director for the Ignatian Spirituality Center in Kansas City. Fr. Gary rejoined the RJ Board of Trustees in June 2023 and serves as secretary. In 2024, he became the chair of the Mission & Ignatian Stewardship Committee.
