Dress Code

List of 10 items.

• Shirts

  Students must wear neat, clean shirts with collars. No cropped shirts or large logos allowed. RJ polos are within the dress code but are not required. Team athletic jerseys of any nature, including soccer jerseys with numerals, logos, etc., and crop tops or shirts are not acceptable except on designated spirit days, and these days must be pre-approved by the administration. When on campus, students must be dressed within the dress code guidelines, including before and after co-curricular practices and during school-sponsored events. Students may be sent home if they are wearing inappropriate attire at co-curricular events. 

• Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Pullovers/Pullovers

  If needed, students may wear a warmer layer over their collared shirts to be comfortable moving around campus throughout the day.
  

  • Knit sweaters, crewneck sweatshirts, quarter-zip fleece pullovers and professionally printed RJHS non-hooded athletic or activity tops must be worn over collared shirts on regular dress days. None of these items may have a hood. Large logos and oversized shirts of any kind are not within dress code.

• Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Dresses

  Neat, clean pants, shorts, skirts or dresses must be worn to school. Pants, shorts and skirts must neatly hemmed at the bottom; no cut-offs or frays will be allowed. Belts are optional but should be worn if needed to ensure proper fit.
  

  • Pants/Shorts: Denim jeans or jeans (of any color), athletic or sweat material pants, yoga pants, leggings, jeggings, pajama pants, flannel pants, joggers, faded, torn or patched pants, sweatpants, warm-ups, camouflage, excessively baggy pants and/or flare pants are not allowed.
  • Skirts/Dresses: Girls Division students may wear skirts or dresses if they choose. Dresses must have a collar. Denim material is not allowed. Skirts and dresses may be no shorter than two inches above the knee

• Outerwear/Jackets/Vests/Coats

  Knit sweaters, sweatshirts and quarter-zip fleece pullovers may be worn over collared shirts on regular dress days. Note: A collared shirt must be worn underneath at all times. Only small logos are allowed on non-Regis Jesuit sweaters and pullovers. Only professionally-printed RJ sweatshirts (hooded and crewneck) will be allowed; other crewnecks and hoodies may NOT be worn during the school day.

• Accessories

  • No hats, caps, visors or sunglasses are to be worn in the building.
  • Students are asked to utilize their assigned lockers to store their excess materials or belongings that cannot be stored in their backpack.
  • Visible tattoos are not allowed.
  • No chains or carabineers large enough for a hand to fit into are allowed (i.e., attached to wallets, keys, etc.).
  • Studded jewelry, such as bracelets, belts or necklaces, is not allowed.
  • Excessive ear piercings, septum piercings, tongue piercings and gauges are not allowed. One small single stud for a nose piercing is within dress code. Nose rings, chains or any other piercings are not allowed. This is in effect from the first day of school until the student graduates from Regis Jesuit.

• Shoes

  For security and safety purposes, shoes must be always worn in the school building and on school grounds. Laced shoes should be tied, and open-toed shoes and sandals must have a back strap.
  

  • Flip flops, Crocs, Uggs, slippers or outerwear boots are not allowed.
  • Dress boots are allowed but cannot be above the knee.
  • Any type of moccasin or slipper footwear is not allowed. No cleats should not be worn into the buildings or field house.

• Hairstyles and Facial Hair

  Students are expected to have neatly groomed, clean hair. Extreme and unacceptable styles include non-natural hair colors, mullets and styles with shaved patches (letters, stripes or symbols). Facial hair is acceptable but must be clean and neatly groomed.

• Student IDs and Lanyards

  • Students must always carry their IDs on their person and be able to present it to a teacher or staff member at any time upon request; failure to do so will result in a JUG
  • Student must visibly wear their lanyard. Lanyards do not have to say RJ but must be appropriate for school

• Mass Dress

  Students are required to dress in Mass Day attire for all Masses and liturgies to show respect and reverence for the sacredness of the Sacrament and liturgy. 

  • Boys Division—Required to wear dress pants or slacks, a belt, a tucked-in oxford shirt and a tie.
  • Girls Division—Required to wear a dress of appropriate length that covers the shoulders or a dressy top that covers the shoulders and pants or skirt of appropriate length. 

• Raider Day Attire

  An officially printed Regis Jesuit t-shirt, sweatshirt or jacket. Students are allowed to wear sweats or Joggers, Jeans, cargo pants or shorts, long-sleeved undershirts, overalls (with an officially printed Regis Jesuit t-shirt, sweatshirt or jacket underneath)

  
  Not Allowed: Any form-fitting clothing, pajamas, leggings or yoga pants, any clothes with holes in them, tank tops, crop tops, bra tops, hats, or hoodies. If you choose not to dress in Raider Day attire, you will need to be in regular dress code.
