  • EMILY GLENN ’08 OFFERS SAGE ADVICE AS FALL WISDOM OF WOMEN SPEAKER

    “How is God calling you to be a man or woman with and for others in our world today?” That is the question Emily Glenn ’08, proud RJ alum and current principal of Arrupe Jesuit High School, began with in front of a standing-room-only crowd. She returned to campus as the featured fall semester presenter in this second year of the Wisdom of Women Speaker Series. Glenn then proceeded to lead the students through an Examen of sorts, using her own experiences in high school up to the present day to illustrate the importance of discernment in discovering and pursuing one’s purpose.

    Congratulations to Great Raider Emma Weber '22 who made history by contributing to Team USA's gold medal victory in the women's 4x100 medley relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Weber joins fellow alums Missy Franklin '13 and Clark Smith '13 as an Olympic champion, making Regis Jesuit proud with two gold medal-winning swimmers. Her remarkable achievement is a testament to the strong foundation she built at Regis Jesuit. Way to go, Emma!

    MISSY FRANKLIN '13 FEATURED ON JESUIT MEDIA LAB'S AMDG PODCAST

    Ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the Jesuit Media Lab recently met with Great Raider Missy Franklin '13 on their weekly AMDG podcast. They talked with her about her experience at the 2012 Olympics where she won five medals, all while a student at Regis Jesuit. In the episode entitled "Swimming From Regis Jesuit to Olympic Gold with Missy Franklin," Missy recalls the emotional and spiritual support she received from the RJ community during this incredible time in her life. She also shares how she has been blessed in many facets of her life following her retirement from swimming. In the latter part of the podcast, Gretchen Kessler, the founding principal of the Girls Division and now Alumnae Liaison, recounts the story of the pivotal decision to open the Girls Division, one that has now transformed the lives of more than 3000 female students just like Missy.

    This past Sunday, July 14, the 9NEWS Prep Rally invited Great Raider Hana Belibi's '24 on set to celebrate some of the top moments from her high school basketball career and discuss her future plans. Belibi was integral in helping the Girls Basketball team secure an impressive second-place finish in the Class 6A State Championships. In her senior year at RJ, she was recognized with the 2023-24 McDonald's All-American Award and was the recipient of this year's Missy Franklin Award, which honors the top senior female student-athlete for excellence.

  • RJ NAMES POOL AFTER MISSY FRANKLIN ‘13

    In a special dedication ceremony held on April 25, 2024, Regis Jesuit named the pool in honor of Class of 2013 alumna and six-time Olympic medalist Missy Franklin Johnson ’13. Fr. Gary Menard, SJ blessed the pool in front of a crowd of Missy’s family and friends, school administration and members of the Girls and Boys Swim & Dive teams. Missy then surprised Hana Belibi ’24 by personally giving her the Missy Franklin Award, awarded annually to the senior female student-athlete of excellence. At the dedication ceremony, it was also announced that an endowed scholarship has been established in Missy's name with a gift from fellow alum John Sheridan ’76. Sheridan was chair of the Regis Jesuit Board of Trustees during Missy’s high school years and witnessed first-hand the positive impact she had on the school community. Following the ceremony, Missy participated in a Q&A session with RJ Media at a special all-school assembly.
