Sunny day in Kansas City!

Layten B. and Andrew E.
Work sites, museum, and Catholic Worker house!
We woke up bright and early this morning and devoured PBH (peanut butter and honey) sandwiches. We got dressed and bundled up because it was freezing out to go to our sites. The sun came out for the first time since Monday! My group (Andrew) went to a construction site and used sledgehammers to tear up the sidewalk while I cleared out some spaces to install insulation caulk. Meanwhile, my group and I (Layten) created an efficient system at demolishing invasive honeysuckle that was on our site. It stood no chance against our professional demolition techniques. Both of our groups came back to the house for lunch and then we visited the Negro League Baseball Museum where we watched an informative documentary and looked at some sick jerseys. We had dinner at the Cherith Brook Catholic Worker House where we both got to meet and connect with some unhoused members of the local community. We also helped serve food, handed out coffee, and did dishes. We ended the night with performing guitar and doing karaoke by the candlelight after a reflective prayer service.
