Day 3 in KC!

Camille S., Rohan W., Jack L.
A day at work sites and a community dinner!
Hi everyone it’s Camille aka Human Resources(inside joke with Pray For Us group- Jack L (CEO), Bilyeu (Bilyeu), Camille(HR), Ellie (Professional Brick placer) ,Javin (CEO), Davis( Freelancer), and Mrs. Reeder. I hope all is well in Denver! First I want to start off by saying we are all having a blast and this trip has exceeded my expectations. Today everyone was split off into groups and did their own thing. My group Pray For Us went into the backyard and a community member named Nashid  gave us the best pep talk we have ever had. He really got us pumped up to volunteer for the community, and want to volunteer. Then we got to work in the yard cleaning it up from all the debris. During this work we all had an amazing time because we got to make a brick pathway in which we pretended we worked in a Pathway LLC hence our names. We call this pathway the pathway of agape thanks to Nashid.

It’s Rohan, today we renovated a basement for a neighbor named Bobby. To kick us off we removed trash from the basement, then insulated the piping. After this we demolished a wall and took out a built-in shelf. After clearing out the area we caulked and foamed the basement to keep it warm finally we cleaned everything up. We had a great experience renovating Bobby’s basement and spending time with his cats.

Hi it’s Jack L, today in Kansas City we learned how to be apart of the community. Me and Javin became CEOs of a path building company and had mixed relationships with our employees. We learned how to sit and eat at the table within ourselves with Nashid. Today we had a community dinner were we had a meal with people of the community coming from all walks of life including Carter who loved to be an airplane and drum on everything. Finally we learned how to look in ourselves within the environment and recognize our own role we play in our world. I hope Denver is well and the skies are more blue than grey where they are here. So far it’s been a great experience and am excited for more!
