STEVE KUPTZ ANNOUNCED AS NEW HEAD SOFTBALL COACH
Regis Jesuit High School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Steve Kuptz as the new Head Softball Coach. With an impressive 30 years of experience coaching high school and youth softball, Coach Kuptz brings a wealth of knowledge, a proven track record of success and a deep passion for mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field.
Throughout his career, Coach Kuptz has consistently demonstrated excellence in developing successful athletes while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. His teams are known for their resilience, mental toughness, and unwavering commitment to the “We Before Me” philosophy—prioritizing team unity and selflessness. Under his leadership, players are challenged to grow as individuals and as teammates, equipping them with the skills to thrive not only in athletics but also in life.
A lifelong learner of the game, Coach Kuptz is a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Three-Star Master Coach and has studied under some of the most accomplished softball coaches in the nation. His innovative leadership programs, inspired by resources such as Jeff Janssen’s Team Captain’s Leadership Manual, have empowered athletes to identify and develop their unique leadership gifts. Coach Kuptz’s emphasis on leadership extends into weekly team-building activities, motivational storytelling, and reflective discussions, creating a foundation for personal and collective growth.
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Coach Kuptz is deeply committed to faith-based mentorship. Raised in the Catholic Church and inspired by a family legacy of Jesuit and Viatorian leaders, he has consistently integrated faith into his coaching, emphasizing the spiritual development of his players. His dedication to service and faith-driven leadership aligns seamlessly with the mission and values of Regis Jesuit High School.
Coach Kuptz is also a devoted family man, drawing inspiration from his role as a father to three daughters who played softball. His players and their families consistently praise his high-energy, positive coaching style, and many former players maintain close relationships with him, testifying to his lifelong impact on their lives.
We are honored to welcome Coach Kuptz to the Regis Jesuit community. His leadership, passion and commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes will undoubtedly elevate our softball program and inspire our students to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
Coach Kuptz will be introduced to the current softball players after the juniors complete their immersions next week.
