We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
A BITTERSWEET GOODBYE: OUR LAST DAY WITH THE COMMUNITY KIDS
Ryan Dune'25
As the sun set on our final day with the community kids, a wave of emotions filled the air—joy from the memories we created, pride in the lessons learned, and sadness in knowing that our time together was coming to an end. Over the days, we shared laughter, knowledge, and stories, watching us grow and learn in ways that touched our hearts. But as every journey must reach its destination, so too must our time with these incredible children. This final day was one of reflection, celebration, and heartfelt goodbyes—a moment to cherish forever.
Today was our last day of camp with the kids, and the theme was sports and ball games. When everyone got there around 9:15 we split them into 3 groups and set up stations. We played soccer, four squares, and sevens (a game we taught the kids earlier in the week that they loved). After the stations we had a snack and played a competitive game of kickball with everyone. We finished camp and walked back up to the office for lunch and card games. Cards has been my favorite activity this week because my Spanish speaking ability is not good, and it has been hard to communicate with the kids. But when everyone plays cards, it is a great way to create a bond even when we aren't talking.
Our afternoon activity today was learning about coffee from Panama, and we got to try a few samples. Although it was hard for me to understand what he was saying, I was shocked when he told us one cup of the specialty coffee he showed us was sold for up to $10,000. I'm not a big coffee fan but every morning our host family has made us a cup and I've started to enjoy it. Trying new things has been a common theme for me this trip, and I have learned to appreciate more of the little things that happen every day.
Last week I was dreading not having my phone for ten days because I felt like I would miss out on and be bored all the time, but the time away has been very refreshing. This past week I've gotten the best sleep of my life, I got to finish my book and got to hang out with new friends without the distractions of our phones.
I'm looking forward to a change of scenery, getting to see Panama City, and getting to hang out with the whole group for a few days!
