REGIS JESUIT’S NEXT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR: MR. RYAN WEST

We are excited to announce that Ryan West has been hired as Regis Jesuit’s next Athletic Director. West has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since the beginning of this school year. He was unanimously selected following a competitive hiring process conducted at the end of last semester.
West brings 32 years of experience to the position, having worked as a coach, teacher and administrator in public education, the last eight as principal of Englewood High School. He is also currently completing a two-year term as president of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Board of Directors. A member of their board since 2018, West’s knowledge of the inner workings at CHSAA has proved invaluable in helping us better understand and build relationships across the landscape of Colorado high school athletics, bolstering our ability to provide a positive experience for RJ student-athletes.

West shares, "It is a true blessing to have the opportunity to continue to serve the greater Regis Jesuit community as Athletic Director. I get the opportunity to work with an amazing team of dedicated professionals every day, to interact with our gifted coaches and student-athletes and to build relationships with our passionate parent community. Together, we get to showcase all that is good with Regis Jesuit High School both in the arena of competition, but more importantly, in everyday life and beyond. As a department, we are excited to continue offering excellent, highly competitive athletic programs as well as to offer both our student-athletes and coaches opportunities to continue to deepen their faith in Christ."

Beyond his passion for athletics and education, West also brings a deep love for his Catholic faith. In his time here, he has also grown to love Jesuit education and has shown himself to be a compassionate, positive colleague and mentor for students and adults alike.

West and his wife, Catherine, have four children, all of whom have played competitive sports. So, he keenly understands the important role sports play in the formation of a young person beyond the scoreboard. He has fully embraced the initiatives of the Inspire & Ignite 2025 Strategic Plan around athletics and is excited to build upon the progress already made to transform Regis Jesuit Athletics more fully into a conduit for mission and leadership. We are excited to have him guide that Bold Move to fruition.
