We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
We woke up at 7:00 AM but some of us did not receive a wake up call. We drank coffee with our host families, and then we got picked up by the truck, where we sat in the tailgate. After being dropped off at the main house, we ate breakfast which included hard boiled eggs, an assortment of fruit, bread, coffee, and cereal. We got into the truck we came in and drove for about half a mile. Halfway up the hill, we hopped out with our tools and started hiking up the rest. At the top of the hill was where our aqua duct work site was located. We started with carrying PVC pipes (about 12 feet long and 6 inch diameter) along the road , laying them out to be put together later. The group then split into two, one went to go glue the pipes together and the other one went to fill in the dirt where previous pipes had been glued together. For the group that went to glue pipes together it was a challenge. Attaching pipes together on the side of a steep mountain where their was little places to stand without losing your footing. It was very exhausting mainly due to the heat and the constant exposer to the sun.
The other group were covering the pipes that the first group was glueing together. This was excruciating work that we are glad to accomplished. Even though was hard work we are happy we were able to do it in order to help a community in D. R.
