Mary Margaret Finch
We are saddened to inform you that Mary Margaret Finch, mother to former Board of Trustees Chair Larry Finch ’74, and grandmother to Anthony ’10, Alyssa ’11, Anna (Fanning) ’13 and Christina Finch, passed away on August 13, 2022.
"Mary was smart, and when other girls her age were not going to college, Mary decided to attend college and double majored at Clarke College in Iowa. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics. She then began her career with the US Geological Survey. While working at the USGS she met Warren Finch and the pair married. They were married for 63 years. Warren and Mary’s life began together, and they became parents to Larry, Carol, and Andy. She made most of Carol’s school clothes until she got to high school, and even her wedding dress and wedding party dresses. She was an amazing wife to Warren, and mother to her children. Mary really loved to learn, she was part of the first graduating class of the Archdiocese Catholic Biblical School. She was a devout Catholic, attending St. Jude Catholic Church since its inception over 40 years ago. She served as the sacristan for most of those years. She also loved to learn by travelling. She has been to over 100 countries and all 7 continents, her last trip being to Iceland at the age of 92." Click here to view the full obituary.
