Robert "Bob" A. Nelson II '61

We are saddened to inform you that Robert "Bob" A. Nelson II '61, son of Robert '35, also deceased, and brother of Scot '70 and Gary '73, passed away on February 27, 2021.  
 
"Bob was born January 31, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the oldest of five to Robert A. and Gertrude Nelson. He was raised in Arvada, Colorado where he lived most of his life. Bob attended Regis High School (’61) and Regis College (’65) where he made many lifelong friends. Later he joined the Air National Guard and went to Vietnam from 1968-1969. In 1972 he met Mary Jane, and they were married in 1973. During their marriage, they were blessed with three children and six grandchildren. Bob and Mary Jane wanted to get into the travel business and started Aquarius Travel. It was an important part of their life that both Bob and Mary Jane managed for 25 years. After leaving the travel industry in 2003, he went to the ministry of working at Mount Olivet Cemetery. He started working for funeral services before he went full time as the Grounds Superintendent maintaining the Mount Olivet cemetery grounds for 10 years, also known by friends and family as 'Bob’s Big Back Yard'. He returned to working the funeral services and helping others through their time of grief. Bob enjoyed driving his 1987 Corvette and being involved with his Corvette club that would get together and create wonderful memories." Click here to view the obituary and search Robert Nelson.
