MOIRA NEWMAN '22 SPENDS SUMMER FIGHTING HUNGER

Moira Newman '22 has been up to nothing but good. Last school year, she was a member of Girls Inc.'s Teen Leadership Board. This summer, she participated in an internship at Metro Caring, a local non-profit working to meet people’s immediate need for nutritious food while building a movement to address the root causes of hunger.
Moira planted and grew an acre of lettuce in a train boxcar through hydroponic farming. Using chemistry skills learned in Mr. Trevor Jackson's class, she created food for the soil to nurture the crop.

What an amazing way to apply skills learned in the classroom to help make the world a better place and be a Woman with and for Others. Great work, Moira!
